NABH 6th Edition · Entry Level 2nd Edition · Digital Health 2nd Edition

We get your hospital ready for the NABH assessor, and keep it ready after.

HospitalMitra is a team of NABH consultants in Chennai, working with hospitals across India and only on NABH, aligned to the editions NABH assesses against today. We study your wards, records and committees against the current objective elements, write what is missing, train your people and run mock assessments until every chapter holds up on the day.

What we do

Everything a hospital needs between "we should apply" and the certificate on the wall.

Pick a single piece of work or hand us the whole project. Either way you get one consultant who knows your hospital by name, not a rotating team.

Gap assessment

A walk-through of every department against each 6th Edition or Entry Level 2nd Edition objective element, with a scored report and a ranked list of what to fix first.

Documentation

Quality manual, departmental SOPs, policies, formats and registers written for how your hospital actually runs.

Staff training

Ward-level sessions for nurses, doctors, housekeeping and front office, plus committee training for the quality team.

Quality indicators

Set up the mandated clinical and managerial indicators, data capture, monthly analysis and corrective action records.

Internal audit & mock assessment

We play the assessor: tracer interviews, record review and facility rounds, then a closing report you can act on.

6th Edition transition & renewal

Re-mapping 5th Edition systems to the 6th Edition, portal application, assessment-day presence, non-conformity closure and re-accreditation.

Standards explained

Choose a standard to see how it works, chapter by chapter.

Each NABH standard is a set of chapters. Each chapter holds standards, and each standard is broken into objective elements, the individual requirements an assessor checks on the ground.

Digital Mitra

Digital compliance for hospitals, explained part by part.

Alongside NABH Digital Health, hospitals deal with three related frameworks: India’s national digital health network, its data protection law and the international security standards. Choose one to see how it works.

Questions hospitals ask

Before you call us

We are accredited under the 5th Edition. What changes for us?

New applications have been assessed against the 6th Edition since 1 January 2025, and accredited hospitals move to it at their next assessment. Infection control becomes Infection Prevention and Control, the quality chapter becomes Patient Safety and Quality Improvement, the wording is now mandatory and there are more Core elements. We re-map your existing manuals and records so you only rework what has actually changed.

Should we start with Entry Level or full accreditation?

Entry Level 2nd Edition (45 standards, 167 objective elements) suits smaller hospitals or those starting their quality journey, and it leads naturally to full 6th Edition accreditation. After the gap assessment we will tell you which one fits your size, services and timeline.

How long does accreditation usually take?

Most mid-sized hospitals reach a ready state in four to six months. It depends on how much documentation already exists and how quickly staff can be released for training.

Do you issue the accreditation?

No. NABH assesses and accredits. Our job is to get your hospital genuinely ready and support you through the assessment and any non-conformities that follow.

Is NABH Digital Health separate from regular NABH?

Yes. The Digital Health Standards 2nd Edition is its own programme, with eight chapters and Silver, Gold and Platinum levels. Hospitals already working on the 6th Edition find it easier, and we can prepare for both in one engagement.

Can you help a hospital outside Tamil Nadu?

Yes. Gap assessments and mock assessments are on site. Documentation reviews, training and follow-ups can run remotely between visits.
